Meghan McSherry

Meghan McSherry started dancing at the age of five in Marietta, Georgia.  Her family moved to Virginia when she was nine, where her passion for dancing continued to grow.  While in Virginia, Meghan danced for The Wilson Dance Company for nine years. Over those nine years she performed and grew as a dancer. A highlight of these nine years was her performance in The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in 2003. Meghan’s passion is ballet, but she is also highly skilled and able to teach other styles of dance, such as modern and jazz.

Meghan is currently a senior at The University of Akron, and is receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Dance. While attending The University of Akron, Meghan has had the opportunity to be taught by many brilliant dancers, and learn more about dance.

Meghan loves teaching dance, and enjoys when children find dance fun, and exciting, just like she did when she was younger.

Cynthia Koehler, B.A.

Cynthia recently graduated magna cum laude from Point Park University with a BA in dance performance. While at Point Park she got the opportunity to perform with the Playhouse Dance Company a number of times including performances as a soloist and a principle dancer. Her most memorable opportunities are learning Serenade from Darla Hoover, a member of the Balanchine Trust; and performing Agnes DeMille’s Rodeo, staged by Paul Sutherland.

Upon her graduation, Cynthia spent the summer in Nashville, TN dancing with the artistic staff of the Nashville Ballet.

Cynthia is excited to get the opportunity to return to her roots of Dance Academy South, this time joining the faculty. She hopes to be able to pass on her passion for dance to the young students of Dance Academy South just as Mrs. Broadhead did for her while she was a student.
