Dance Works

The Manchester Dance Ensemble and students of Dance Academy South perform a wide variety of styles, exploring Classical Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop. Whether your child enjoys dancing as a pastime or is passionately preparing for professional dance career, he or she will benefit from the experience in dance performance.

Along with Classical Ballet and Contemporary works, artistic director, Lesa R. Broadhead also brings Social Consciousness works to the spotlight. These unique pieces increase awareness of social issues through the art of dance. Drug abuse, adoption, and the tragic events of 9-11 are deeply emotional situations that have inspired works rich in the artistic expression of adversity, struggle, triumph and celebration.

Spring Concerts highlight the achievements of both MDE and DAS students throughout the year. Complete productions with original sets, dazzling costumes, superb music, and professional lighting delight friends, family, and loyal patrons. Dedicated supporters who share their time, talent, and monetary donations make this annual event a memorable occasion for everyone, but especially for the young dancers on stage who share their love of dance with all of us.
